Title: The Water-Lily Pond
Artist: Claude Monet
Year: 1899
Media: Oil on Canvas
Size: 88.3x93.1 cm
Monet explores the theme colour in this art piece by using different tones of green through out most of the painting, there are little use of whites and reds which helps bring out the flowers on the water. Monet use of greens making the painting more natural.
I find Monet painting fascinating mainly because of how he painted everything in detail, especially with the reflection of the water and how the bridge is lightly dimmed which shows us a shadow is cast upon it, since one part of the bridge is lighter than other.
