Drawing Success Week 7

This week i pretty much did nothing but do more of my drawing project, so far i have now done 4 out of my 6 drawings.

Flowers in Charcoal on White paper.

White Rose In white pencil on black paper.

Rose in charcoal on white paper. I decided to use black ink on the rose to try and blend the charcoal with it into the paper.

Using charcoal for the rose i then decided to splatter red dye onto the page, at first I tried to do it so it look like the red was dripping from the rose, but I accidentally got more red over the page then on the rose. I then realised that the rose was too light against the red, using a charcoal pencil I darkened the rose, showing tone and depth to it.

My other two drawings will be white pencil on black paper.

Learning Success Week 7

This week we went into the computer lab, and went on photoshop and do a monogram of our initials, here is my final design.

We then printed our final designs and using wool and pins, make our final design.

I tried adding the M, but it turned out to be more difficult for me so i just stuck with KC.

We also went to the computer suite and researched artist that used either symbols/logos/crests/monograms in their works.

An artist who really got my attention was Roadsworth, because of how he's really creative with his works, especially how he uses a ordinary line on the road and makes it into something creative and amazing.

Drawing From Nature Week 6

On Wednesday Richard made us wash the black board out side, and re-draw a flower you like out of your drawings from our projects. After we finished drawing our nature themed drawing, we then had to pin up all our drawn pieces so far, and explain to everyone in class our ideas and what we might do for our other art pieces, we then continued our drawings.

Rose drawn in white pencil on black paper.

On Thursday we were all working on our projects. I tried drawing another rose but this time in charcoal, I then stared experiencing with coloured chalks and found it very interesting working with this media because unlike charcoal, the colours seemed to make drawing stand out of the drawing.

Drawing From Nature Week 5

On Wednesday we all went to the opening of the Otara Art Gallery, Fresh. After taking a few funny pictures with some of the art pieces, we all went back to the visual art department.

The rest of the day and Thursday we all were doing our own art projects where we had to have at lease 6-8 art pieces done before the 18th April.

Learning Success Week 5

On Monday in Learning Success we started off the day by making paper statues, the theme of of our statues were based around nature. Using newspaper and tape we would roll the the newspaper into rolls and taping them together to form the shape i wanted for my statue. I made a a flower shaped statue, but it was a bit  unstable since i had only done the petals but it was more stable on Tuesday once i added extra paper rolls as beams to support each petal.

Later on in the day using Ink we painted an picture of our sculpture, then using white chalk to highlight the light tones of the sculpture.
